Biography:

Surtur is a colossal fire demon and ruler of Muspelheim, a fiery realm, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). He first appeared in *Thor Ragnarok*.

In *Thor Ragnarok*, Surtur is imprisoned by Thor, who defeats him to obtain his crown. Thor believes he has prevented Ragnarok by removing the crown, which is needed to ignite the Eternal Flame.

However, upon his return to Asgard, Thor discovers that Ragnarok is inevitable. Loki revives Surtur by placing his crown in the Eternal Flame. Fully restored, Surtur grows to an immense size and destroys Asgard, fulfilling the prophecy of Ragnarok and defeating Hela.
