Rick Sanchez, often simply called Rick, is one of the two title characters from the animated TV show Rick and Morty. He is a brilliant but highly eccentric and alcoholic scientist. He is the father of Beth Smith and the grandfather of Morty, Summer, and is often seen bringing Morty along on dangerous and bizarre interdimensional adventures.
