Nathaniel "Nate" Heywood, also known as Citizen Steel, is a character featured in The CW's Arrowverse. He first appeared in Legends of Tomorrow season two.
Nate is a historian and grandson of Commander Steel, a member of the Justice Society of America. Initially, Nate suffers from hemophilia, but this is cured when he injects himself with a super-soldier serum.
The serum grants him the ability to transform his skin into organic steel, giving him superhuman strength and durability. As Citizen Steel, he becomes a valuable member of the Legends team.
Throughout his time with the Legends, Nate develops his powers further and eventually requires a suit to properly control his abilities. He becomes romantically involved with Amaya Jiwe (Vixen), adding a personal dimension to his heroic journey.
