Superboy (Solar Suit), also known as Kon-El, is a fictional character in DC Comics. He first appeared in Adventures of Superman #500 (June 1993).
Initially created as a genetically engineered clone intended to replace the deceased Superman, Kon-El was created from human DNA and Kryptonian DNA potentially derived from Superman. Project Cadmus accelerated his aging, resulting in a teenage appearance.
Originally believing himself to be the real Superman reborn, he eventually learned the truth of his origins. He possesses powers similar to Superman, including super strength, flight, and heat vision, although they manifest differently and are tied to a "tactile telekinesis" that allows him to manipulate objects with his mind. His solar suit helped to regulate his powers early on.
Kon-El has been a member of several superhero teams, including Young Justice and the Teen Titans, and has played a significant role in major DC Comics storylines. He's undergone several reboots and revisions to his origin story.
