William "Bill" S. Preston, Esquire is a fictional character most notably portrayed by Alex Winter in the Bill & Ted franchise.
He first appeared in the 1989 movie Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure as one half of the metalhead duo from San Dimas, California, alongside Ted "Theodore" Logan.
Bill is characterized by his cheerful demeanor, unwavering loyalty to Ted, and a somewhat dim-witted but ultimately good-hearted nature. Together, Bill and Ted aspire to form a world-changing rock band called Wyld Stallyns.
The duo's adventures continued in Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey (1991) and Bill & Ted Face the Music (2020).
