Ash Ketchum, known as Satoshi in Japan, is the main protagonist of the Pokémon anime series. His first appearance was in the inaugural episode, "Pokémon - I Choose You!" which aired in 1997.

Ash is a young boy from Pallet Town whose ambition is to become a Pokémon Master. On his tenth birthday, he receives Pikachu as his starter Pokémon from Professor Oak, setting off on a journey across various regions in the Pokémon world.

Throughout his travels, Ash competes in the Pokémon League competitions, aiming to win the championship. He is known for his unwavering determination, optimism, and strong bond with his Pokémon.
