Ty Lee is a prominent character in the animated television series Avatar: The Last Airbender. She is a cheerful and energetic acrobat who is initially a member of Princess Azula's elite squad.

Originally one of seven identical sisters who all chose to work at the circus instead of attend Fire Nation school, Ty Lee learned to mask her aura through chi blocking. This unique ability allows her to temporarily disable an opponent's bending abilities and physical movement by striking specific pressure points on their body.

Throughout the series, Ty Lee struggles with her identity, feeling lost within her large family and later questioning her allegiances. Eventually, she defects from Azula's group due to her growing friendship with Mai and her increasing unease with Azula's ruthlessness.

After defecting, Ty Lee joins the Kyoshi Warriors and learns to embrace her individuality while continuing to master her chi-blocking skills. She plays a pivotal role in the final battle against the Fire Nation, assisting in the defeat of Azula.
