Plastic Man, created by Jack Cole, debuted in Police Comics #1 (August 1941) and is a superhero in the DC Comics universe.
Born Patrick "Eel" O'Brian, he was a common crook until an accident involving an unknown chemical compound granted him incredible elasticity and malleability. He can stretch, bounce, inflate, and reshape himself into almost anything.
Choosing to use his newfound abilities for good, Eel reformed and became Plastic Man, joining the police force and fighting crime with his unusual powers and goofy sense of humor.
Often portrayed as a lighthearted character, Plastic Man is also surprisingly effective in combat due to the unpredictable nature of his powers.
