Kobe Bryant was an American professional basketball player who spent his entire career with the Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA.

Bryant entered the NBA straight out of high school, being drafted by the Charlotte Hornets in 1996, but was immediately traded to the Lakers.

Playing primarily as a shooting guard, he was an 18-time All-Star, 15-time All-NBA Team selection, and 12-time All-Defensive Team member. Bryant won five NBA championships with the Lakers.

He was known for his scoring prowess and competitive drive, becoming one of the NBA's all-time leading scorers and a cultural icon.
