Raven Darkhölme, known as Mystique, is a mutant character within the X-Men Cinematic Universe. Her primary power is shapeshifting, allowing her to perfectly mimic the appearance and voice of any humanoid. She is portrayed as a complex figure, often caught between her loyalty to mutantkind and her own personal survival.
Mystique's loyalties were tested on numerous occasions, particularly concerning her relationship with Professor Charles Xavier and Magneto. Her views on mutant integration and survival often put her at odds with Xavier's peaceful approach. She is portrayed by Jennifer Lawrence in the X-Men films.
Mystique's first appearance in the X-Men Cinematic Universe was in the movie *X-Men: First Class* (2011). Prior to that she had appeared in earlier X-Men films played by a different actress.
