Professor Hugo Strange is a recurring antagonist in the Batman mythos. He first appeared in Detective Comics #36 (February 1940) as one of Batman's earliest adversaries.
While often overshadowed by more flamboyant villains, Strange is a brilliant but criminally insane scientist with a penchant for bizarre experiments and a deep obsession with Batman. His schemes often involve genetic manipulation, mind control, and the use of super-strength enhancing formulas.
In The Lego Batman Movie, Hugo Strange is a minor character, appearing as one of the many villains incarcerated in Arkham Asylum. He is a part of the group of antagonists that Batman must confront.
