Darth Malgus, born Veradun, was a Sith Lord of the Old Republic era, circa 3653 BBY. He first appeared in the trailer for the video game Star Wars: The Old Republic, instantly becoming a figure synonymous with the game and its setting.

Malgus rose through the ranks of the Sith Empire through brutality and strategic cunning. He was known for his ruthlessness in battle, and his commitment to the Sith ideology of power through strength.

A pivotal moment in Malgus's life was the Sacking of Coruscant, which he spearheaded, dealing a devastating blow to the Galactic Republic. This bold attack, however, also resulted in severe injuries that required him to wear a distinctive respirator and cybernetic enhancements for the remainder of his life.

Malgus eventually turned against the Sith Empire in an attempt to forge his own path, believing they had grown weak. He sought to establish a new Sith order based on pure strength and conquest, leading to conflict with both the Republic and the established Sith forces.
