Asajj Ventress is a notable character within the Expanded Universe of Star Wars, primarily known for her role in the Clone Wars era. A Dark Jedi and assassin, she served Count Dooku and the Separatist cause, becoming a formidable adversary to the Jedi Order.

Ventress's first appearance was in the *Star Wars: Clone Wars* microseries, created by Genndy Tartakovsky. This animated series, preceding the 2008 *Clone Wars* TV show, initially introduced her as a mysterious and deadly warrior. She was later featured in the 2008 *Clone Wars* TV show, where her backstory was expanded and her character further developed.

Originally a Rattataki from the planet Rattatak, Ventress's life was marked by tragedy and loss, leading her down a path to the dark side. Trained briefly by a Jedi Master before his death, she was later recruited by Count Dooku, becoming his apprentice and assassin.
