Oliver Hardy, born Norvell Hardy, was an American comedic actor best known as one half of the legendary comedy duo Laurel and Hardy.
His partnership with Stan Laurel began in the silent film era, blossoming into iconic status with their slapstick routines and memorable catchphrases. While they appeared in earlier films together, their official partnership and defining characteristics gelled around 1927, marking the start of their most celebrated work.
