Biography:
Chronos is a time-manipulating supervillain in the DC Comics universe. Primarily an adversary of the Atom (Ray Palmer), Chronos' real name is David Clinton. He was originally portrayed as a petty thief obsessed with time and clocks.
Driven by this obsession, Clinton develops a suit and various gadgets allowing him to control time. His initial powers were mostly based on technological devices, capable of slowing down, speeding up, or even stopping time within a limited area. He used these abilities for criminal endeavors.
Over the years, Chronos' powers and origins have been retconned and expanded. In some iterations, he gained more significant and inherent time-manipulation abilities, becoming a more formidable threat. He has also been portrayed as having a deeper, more complex connection to the flow of time itself, rather than just relying on gadgets.
Chronos has been a member of various villainous groups, including the Injustice League. His appearances span various DC media, including animated series and television shows, solidifying his place as a recurring time-themed antagonist.
