Rem is a Shinigami (god of death) character from the Japanese manga series Death Note, created by Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata.
Her first appearance in the anime adaptation is in episode 11, titled "Assault." She is a key character in the story, distinguished by her androgynous appearance and loyalty to Misa Amane. Unlike many other Shinigami, Rem is deeply concerned with the well-being of humans, specifically Misa.
