Adéwalé is a prominent character within the Assassin's Creed franchise, first appearing in Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag as Edward Kenway's quartermaster.
Born into slavery in Trinidad, Adéwalé escaped and eventually became a skilled pirate and Assassin. Initially serving as a valuable member of Kenway's crew, he later embraces the Assassin cause fully.
Following the events of Black Flag, Adéwalé takes on his own independent journey. This is explored further in the downloadable content Assassin's Creed: Freedom Cry, where he assumes the role of the protagonist.
In Freedom Cry, Adéwalé dedicates himself to fighting against slavery, using his skills and resources to liberate enslaved people throughout the Caribbean. He evolves from a pirate to a dedicated freedom fighter, making him a complex and compelling figure.
