Paul Bearer was a prominent character in professional wrestling, most notably with WWE (formerly WWF). Born William Moody, he portrayed a funeral director and manager known for his macabre persona and signature urn.
He first appeared in WWE in 1991, aligning himself with The Undertaker. Mr Bearer, as he was sometimes called, acted as Undertaker's manager, controlling his power with the urn which was said to be filled with the ashes of his dead relatives, a key prop during their alliance and often used to interfere in matches.
Bearer's character added a supernatural and theatrical element to wrestling storylines, becoming a memorable and influential figure. He managed other wrestlers throughout his career, often turning on them or revealing dark secrets to manipulate events and was a prominent figure until his death in 2013.
