Usopp, from the widely popular anime series One Piece, is the sniper and marksman of the Straw Hat Pirates. He initially joins the crew as a talented liar and boastsful storyteller, compensating for his physical weakness and insecurities with elaborate fabrications.

Hailing from Syrup Village, Usopp's early life was marked by his father Yasopp's departure to join Shanks' Red Hair Pirates. He coped with his mother's illness and eventual death by inventing tales, which, while initially perceived as disruptive, ultimately helped to keep the village's spirits up.

Throughout the series, Usopp's character undergoes significant growth. He struggles with self-doubt and often lacks the confidence displayed by his stronger crewmates. However, he consistently proves his value through his ingenuity, strategic thinking, and developing sharpshooting abilities. He masters the use of slingshots and various "Pop Greens" (special plant seeds), becoming a crucial asset in battles. He temporarily leaves the crew, adopting the alter ego "Sogeking", representing his desire to prove himself, and return to the crew as a true, strong pirate.
