Philip Joseph Kessel III, born October 2, 1987, is an American professional ice hockey player. He is a right winger known for his offensive abilities, particularly his scoring prowess.
Kessel was drafted 5th overall in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft by the Boston Bruins, playing there from 2006 to 2009. He was then traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs, where he spent six seasons, becoming a consistent goal scorer despite team struggles.
Later, Kessel joined the Pittsburgh Penguins, winning the Stanley Cup in both 2016 and 2017 as a key member of their offensive core. He spent time with the Arizona Coyotes before being traded to the Vegas Golden Knights in 2023, where he won his third Stanley Cup.
