Frederick "Freddie" Freeman (born September 12, 1989) is a Canadian-American professional baseball first baseman. He currently plays for the Los Angeles Dodgers of Major League Baseball (MLB).
Freeman began his MLB career with the Atlanta Braves in 2010, playing with them for 12 seasons. During his tenure with Atlanta, he was a five-time All-Star, won a Gold Glove Award in 2018, a Silver Slugger Award three times, and the National League MVP award in 2020. He was also instrumental in the Braves' 2021 World Series championship victory.
Following the 2021 season, Freeman became a free agent and signed with the Dodgers in March 2022. Known for his consistent hitting and strong defense, Freeman is widely regarded as one of the premier first basemen in baseball.
