Biography:
Buddy, portrayed by Will Ferrell, is the protagonist of the 2003 Christmas film, Elf. He is a human raised as an elf at the North Pole.
Buddy discovers he is not a real elf after overhearing a conversation. Papa Elf explains that Buddy was born to Walter Hobbs and Susan Wells, but Walter did not know he existed.
Seeking his biological father, Buddy travels to New York City. He struggles to adapt to human society and his father is initially skeptical and rejects him.
Over the course of the film, Buddy, through his unwavering Christmas spirit and genuine heart, helps Walter rediscover the true meaning of Christmas, mends Walter's relationship with his wife and son Michael, and finds love with Jovie, a department store elf.
