Machete, also known as Emilio Garra, is a fictional character appearing in Marvel Comics. He is primarily depicted as a mercenary and adversary of numerous heroes, most notably Deadpool.

Born in Cuba, Garra gained extensive combat skills, becoming an expert in bladed weapons, particularly machetes, hence his codename. His ruthlessness and proficiency quickly established him within mercenary circles.

Machete's first appearance was in Moon Knight Vol. 1 #13 (November 1981). He's frequently employed by criminal organizations and governments for assassination and sabotage missions. Over the years, he's crossed paths with various heroes, including Cable, Domino, and the aforementioned Deadpool, often resulting in violent confrontations.

Though lacking superhuman abilities, Machete's skill with his namesake weapons, combined with his tactical mind and ruthless demeanor, makes him a formidable opponent. He is often depicted with multiple machetes concealed on his person, making him a deadly threat in close-quarters combat.
