Black Tom Cassidy, whose first appearance was in Uncanny X-Men #99 (1976), is a Marvel Comics character, primarily associated with the X-Men. He is an Irish mutant with the ability to manipulate, control, and generate energy through plant life.
Thomas Sean Cassidy comes from a long line of Irish warriors. He is also the cousin of Banshee, another prominent X-Men character. Black Tom's criminal career often puts him at odds with his cousin and the X-Men team.
His powers include the ability to accelerate, decay or even take control of plants. Black Tom can become one with the plant life or manipulate it as a weapon.
