Biography:
Rayo de Jalisco is a legendary Mexican Luchador (professional wrestler) whose identity has been held by two individuals: Daniel García Arteaga and his son, Rayo de Jalisco Jr. Daniel García Arteaga, the original Rayo de Jalisco, debuted in 1962 and quickly became one of Mexico's most popular wrestlers. Known for his charisma and high-flying style, he often battled against some of the biggest names in Lucha Libre. He unmasked many rivals during his career. His signature mask featured a lightning bolt design, symbolizing his name, which translates to "Lightning Bolt of Jalisco." He retired in the late 1980's.
Following in his father's footsteps, Rayo de Jalisco Jr. has continued the legacy. He debuted in 1990, inheriting the mask and name. While sometimes overshadowed by his father's iconic status, he has had a significant career of his own, working for major promotions like CMLL and AAA. He also continues to defend the Rayo de Jalisco legacy and mask.
