Galvatron is a major antagonist in the Transformers franchise, specifically from the 1986 animated movie and the related television series. He is a more powerful and mentally unstable version of Megatron, rebuilt by Unicron after being critically injured in a battle with Optimus Prime.

First appearing in *The Transformers: The Movie* Galvatron quickly usurps leadership of the Decepticons from Starscream, using ruthless tactics and overwhelming firepower. Unlike Megatron, who sometimes displays a degree of cunning, Galvatron is often depicted as being driven by rage and prone to fits of madness, making him a dangerous and unpredictable leader.

Galvatron typically transforms into a powerful laser cannon, reflecting his increased power and destructive potential. His design retains elements of Megatron, but features a new color scheme and a more menacing appearance.
