Crazy Quilt, also known as Paul Dekker, is a fictional villain in the DC Comics universe, primarily associated with Batman. He is a master painter who, in his original Golden Age incarnation, turned to crime after his artistic genius was no longer appreciated.
A later Silver Age retcon presented a different origin. In this version, Dekker is blinded during a mission. He undergoes an experimental procedure that restores his sight but leaves him only able to perceive bright colors. This dramatically altered perception drives him insane, leading him to adopt the Crazy Quilt persona.
