Jennifer Parker is a fictional character primarily known for her role in the Back to the Future film franchise. She is Marty McFly's girlfriend, portrayed by Claudia Wells in the first film and Elisabeth Shue in the second and third films.
In the first movie, Jennifer is a supportive figure in Marty's life, understanding his aspirations to be a musician and generally accepting his eccentricities. She is present when Marty first travels to 1955. Due to time travel alterations, a future version of Jennifer accompanies Marty and Doc Brown to 2015 in Back to the Future Part II. There, she learns potentially devastating information about her future.
Elisabeth Shue took over the role in the sequels after Claudia Wells's mother was diagnosed with cancer. Jennifer's role in the later films is somewhat reduced as the plot focuses more on Marty's adventures. However, she remains a constant in Marty's life.
