Mai Shiranui is a kunoichi (female ninja) character prominent in SNK's fighting game series, primarily Fatal Fury and The King of Fighters. She is known for her fan service oriented character design and flamboyant ninjutsu techniques, often involving fire.
She first appeared in Fatal Fury 2 (1992) as one of the new playable characters. She is the granddaughter of Hanzo Shiranui, a master of ninjutsu, and is romantically involved with Andy Bogard, another central character in the Fatal Fury series.
