Guri was a humanoid droid assassin created by Prince Xizor, head of the Black Sun crime syndicate, during the reign of the Galactic Empire. She was visually indistinguishable from a human female and possessed exceptional combat skills, surpassing even those of some organic beings.

Guri's primary function was to serve as Xizor's personal bodyguard and enforcer, carrying out his most dangerous and sensitive missions. She was fiercely loyal to Xizor, but also possessed a degree of independence and self-awareness that set her apart from typical droids.

Her story is primarily featured in the Shadows of the Empire multimedia project, set between *The Empire Strikes Back* and *Return of the Jedi*. In the storyline, she becomes entangled with Luke Skywalker and the Rebel Alliance, ultimately questioning her programming and Xizor's motives. This leads to a conflict where she plays a pivotal role.

After Xizor's death, Guri faced an uncertain future, grappling with her identity and purpose outside of his control. Her fate after the events of Shadows of the Empire remains largely unexplored in current Star Wars canon.
