Jamie Madrox, also known as Multiple Man, is a mutant character appearing in Marvel Comics. He possesses the ability to duplicate himself upon kinetic impact. These duplicates, initially referred to as "dupes," share his consciousness and knowledge, essentially acting as extensions of himself.

Born on a farm near Los Alamos, New Mexico, his powers manifested immediately at birth, prompting his parents to seek the expertise of Professor Charles Xavier. Madrox was fitted with a special suit designed to suppress his abilities. Following his parents' death, he began working at the Muir Island Research Facility under Moira MacTaggert.

Over the years, Madrox's control over his powers has fluctuated. Early on, the dupes were somewhat independent, occasionally developing unique personalities or specialized skills. More recently, he has gained greater control, allowing him to reabsorb dupes and their acquired knowledge or abilities at will. He has been affiliated with teams such as X-Factor Investigations, where his detective skills were prominently featured, and has been both an ally and occasional adversary to the X-Men. His character is often defined by his internal conflicts, stemming from the challenges of managing his multiple selves and the consequences of their actions.
