X-23, also known as Laura Kinney, is a genetically engineered clone of Wolverine. She was created by Transigen, a corporation seeking to replicate Wolverine's healing factor and weaponize it for combat.

Laura possesses similar abilities to Wolverine, including a rapid healing factor, enhanced strength, speed, and reflexes. She also has retractable adamantium claws, two on her hands and one on each foot.

Subjected to brutal experimentation and training from a young age, Laura was molded into a highly skilled assassin. Her early life was marked by violence and control, leaving her emotionally scarred and struggling to find her own identity.

In the film *Logan* (2017), Laura is portrayed as a young mutant who, along with Logan (Wolverine) and Professor X, is on the run from the Reavers and Transigen. She ultimately develops a close bond with Logan, finding a surrogate father figure in him. She shows determination to escape her past and use her powers for good.
