John Proudstar, better known as Thunderbird, was a mutant superhero in Marvel Comics. He was a proud and powerful Apache warrior, possessing superhuman strength, speed, stamina, and senses.
Thunderbird was recruited by Professor Charles Xavier to join the second generation of X-Men, assembled to rescue the original team from the living island Krakoa. He was fiercely loyal and dedicated to his teammates.
Tragically, Thunderbird's tenure with the X-Men was short-lived. During a mission to stop Count Nefaria, he recklessly leaped onto Nefaria's jet, intending to rip it apart. His power was insufficient, and the resulting explosion killed him.
Though his time with the X-Men was brief, Thunderbird's death served as a major character development point, illustrating the dangers of reckless behavior and the cost of being a hero.
