Juohmaru is the protagonist of the classic mecha anime series, Plawres Sanshiro (also known as Judo Boy in some regions). He is a humanoid robot developed by Sanshiro Sugata, a brilliant young programmer and judo enthusiast.

Juohmaru isn't controlled by an external pilot in the traditional mecha sense. Instead, Sanshiro uses a Brainwave Control System (BCS) to mentally pilot Juohmaru, experiencing the robot's movements and sensations directly. This allows for a unique level of coordination and responsiveness.

Juohmaru is specifically designed to compete in "combat plawres," a fictional sport where robots engage in judo-style matches. He is a highly skilled and agile competitor, relying on a combination of judo techniques programmed into his core programming and Sanshiro's real-time control.

Throughout the series, Juohmaru faces numerous challenging opponents and evolves with new techniques and upgrades. He represents the cutting edge of robotic combat technology and the close bond between creator and creation.
