Caesar is a chimpanzee character prominently featured in the rebooted Planet of the Apes film franchise (2011-2017), primarily portrayed through motion capture and voice acting by Andy Serkis. He is not a singular, historical Caesar but a fictionalized, evolved ape.
Originally a chimpanzee infant whose mother was subjected to ALZ-112, a viral-based drug designed to cure Alzheimer's, Caesar inherited enhanced intelligence and cognitive abilities.
