Daniel West is a DC Comics character known primarily as a version of the Reverse-Flash. He's the younger brother of Iris West and, therefore, uncle to Wally West.

Unlike Eobard Thawne's malicious obsession with Barry Allen, Daniel's motivations stem from a troubled past. He was a career criminal who was imprisoned after an altercation with Iris. After escaping prison, Daniel came into contact with a corrupted Speed Force battery, merging with it and gaining speedster abilities.

His powers were fueled by the pain he inflicted on others, creating a dependency that drove his actions. He sought to correct perceived wrongs in his past, often resulting in violent confrontations. He initially clashed with the Flash (Barry Allen).

Later, during the New 52, Daniel sought redemption and even fought alongside the Flash. He sacrificed himself to save Central City, ultimately proving that he was more than just a villain. His story is a complex one of tragedy, power, and a desperate attempt at atonement.
