The Airplane Mechanic, a minor character in Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981), is a burly, unnamed individual who services and fuels Jock Lindsey's Grumman Goose seaplane.
He appears briefly during the scene where Indiana Jones and Marion Ravenwood are attempting to escape Nepal. He is depicted as somewhat slow-witted and easily startled, reacting with alarm when Indy and Marion rush aboard the plane, desperately trying to flee Belloq's henchmen.
The Airplane Mechanic's primary contribution to the plot is facilitating the escape; without his services, Indy and Marion would likely have been captured.
